About

I am an MBA student at Mississippi State University. My passion is designing clean, fresh Web sites. Many of my previous projects were on a volunteer basis. Aside from this geeky passion, interests include music, blogging, Dr. Pepper, House, and (most of all) God.

Learning the Web

My first encounter with Web development was in high school. This newfound hobby got serious during my undergraduate years at Mississippi State. Professor "Rockin' Rodney," with his challenging, inclusive teaching style, helped me develop a good foundation for exploring the inner workings of the Web.

First came Web standards. Consistently using standards on the Web ensures that all users have a good experience. Next, my objective was learning about visual design on the Web. That meant learning about graphic design and CSS.

During the course of learning the Web, I took a few classes, read lots of articles, purchased a few books, and even went to a conference. Special thanks to the many teachers, authors, and speakers who influenced me.

A little background

I was born and raised in Mississippi. For that reason, my home can never be too far from a catfish pond and an iron skillet of cornbread. As you may not can tell from the photo, I am a wheelchair user. As a result, I have a certain distain for stairs.

Though I'm not limited to Mississippi, I am excited about working with clients around the state. If you are in need of a fresh, new look on the Web, visit my contact page and drop me a line. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

My academic background includes an undergraduate degree in information systems and a master in business administration, both from Mississippi State University.
